Discover Events That Bring Earth Day to Life this April

Singapore’s carbon footprint may account for only 0.1% of global greenhouse gas emissions, but our ambitions for a sustainable future are bold. As one of the first 55 countries to sign the Paris Agreement, we have made climate resilience a national priority through sustainable development, cleaner energy commitments, and international collaboration.

Celebrated annually on April 22, Earth Day is a global reminder of the importance of conserving our environment. From large-scale clean-up efforts to reforestation projects, individuals, organisations, and communities are coming together to build a more sustainable future.

As Singapore’s No. 1 Residential Electricity Retailer, our commitment to sustainability goes beyond Earth Day. From supporting local grassroots campaigns to championing nationwide efforts like the National Parks Board’s #OneMillionTrees Movement, we continue to play our part in building a greener Singapore, while inspiring everyone to do the same.

Sustainability starts with small, meaningful choices. Whether it is adopting greener habits, supporting eco-conscious businesses, or getting involved in conservation efforts, every action counts. Here’s how you can make a difference this Earth Month.

Shop with Purpose at the Crane Living Earth Day Pop-Up

The way we shop has a ripple effect on the world around us. Choosing responsibly made products is a simple yet effective way to reduce waste, while supporting ethical production.

At the Crane Living Earth Day Pop-Up, local businesses, independent artists, and creators are coming together to showcase products that prioritise sustainability. From thoughtfully designed fashion and handcrafted accessories to eco-conscious kitchenware, the marketplace offers a curated selection of unique finds that support ethical craftsmanship and responsible consumption.

Beyond shopping, the event encourages a more circular approach to waste. If you have extra tote bags, paper bags, or bubble wrap, bring them along to donate and help extend the lifespan of reusable materials and reduce unnecessary disposal.

Taking place from April 21 to 24, between 10am and 6pm, this pop-up is a chance to explore eco-conscious brands, make informed purchases, and support small businesses in a welcoming and vibrant space.

Admission is free. Book your tickets here and connect with a community that values mindful choices.

Experience Innovation in Action at the ‘Climate Changed’ Exhibition

As climate change continues to fuel rising temperatures and unpredictable weather, our nation is working towards a 36% reduction in greenhouse gas emissions per dollar of GDP from 2005 levels by 2030. But real change begins with awareness—and The Climate Changed exhibition at Science Centre Singapore brings this to life in an immersive and engaging way.

Explore interactive displays, hands-on activities, and storytelling designed to spark curiosity and inspire action this Earth Month. Catch The Climate Action Show, a 20-minute production that enrols visitors in a climate agent training course. Guided by mascots Felicity and Sheepy, the show shares insights from real-world scientists and environmental advocates on topics like waste reduction, sustainability research, and the effects of climate change on public health. Through captivating visuals and expert perspectives, you will learn how individual choices contribute to a larger movement for change.

If you prefer a more hands-on experience, Guilt Trip takes you on a board game-inspired “road trip” through five themed zones: Water Consumption, Food Waste & Food Production, Technology & Electricity Use, Recyclability & Sustainability, and Emissions. Along the way, test your knowledge, pick up useful tips, and uncover surprising facts about our city’s food production and initiatives from the Singapore Green Plan 2030. At the end of your journey, you will even get to earn a “Climate Driver’s License”—a personalised scorecard showing your climate awareness, along with practical steps to make a difference.

As the Science Centre’s largest gamified exhibition, it offers a dynamic way to grasp climate science and explore real-world solutions. Secure your tickets here for an eye-opening experience.

Root for a Greener Future with NParks’ Plant-A-Tree Initiative

With a vision to transform Singapore into a “City in Nature,” the National Parks Board (NParks) has already planted approximately 768,976 trees as part of the #OneMillionTrees initiative, steadily progressing towards their goal of greening the nation with one million new trees by 2030.

As part of our ongoing journey to #PowerTheChange, Geneco has pledged to plant 250 trees for the past five years. This Earth Day, as we commemorate our 7th Anniversary, our 5th annual Plant-A-Tree event will see us surpass this milestone, bringing our total to 450 trees planted across Singapore.

Because building a greener future takes all of us, we would like to invite you to be part of this growing movement too. Whether by sponsoring a tree or rolling up your sleeves to plant one, your action will also help to strengthen the lush canopy that future generations will enjoy.

Visit NParks’ website here to find out how you can get involved.

Transform Awareness into Meaningful Change
